However, I think that Pacat did a good job overall. Especially adult literature with shall we say some explicit scenes. Something that is always interesting to me, is when an author goes from adult literature to Y.A. However, I think that it is worth a look if it sounds interesting to you. So, I can’t say that my reading experience will be anything similar to your own if you pick it up. I was there for those vibes, and honestly, I was right. A theory that I wanted to see through to the end of the book. It’s pretty heavy on descriptions and there wasn’t anything that was really keeping me going, that is until I came up with a theory. When I first picked up Dark Rise I wasn’t sure that I was going to enjoy it. As each side begins to draw their battle lines, the young descendants of the Light and Dark must step into their destined roles, and Will must stand with the last heroes of the light to prevent his world from having the same fate as their own. A Dark that sees the return of the Dark King, the reborn heroes, and villains of a war long forgotten by the modern era. Will is being pursued by the men who killed his mother, but when an old servant tells him that his destiny is to fight beside the Stewards, he is ushered into a world of magic, where he must train to play a vital role in the oncoming battle against the Dark. “The bright star holds, even as the darkness rises.”
